Alleviating your Holiday Stress

THoliday Stresshanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are all coming up one after another. While this time is full of joy and excitement, it is also notoriously full of stress. From cooking a full turkey dinner for your family to shopping for them all too, it can be a busy, headache-filled few months.

The impending stress of the next few months, in addition to headaches, can bring along muscle soreness and strain, aches and pains as well as upset stomachs. A study published by the American Psychological Association shows that 44 percent of women and 31 percent of men report increased stress during the holiday season.

Between shopping and cooking and wrapping and cleaning, there’s not much time to relax. Let’s face it, a vacation is out of the question and spending the day at a spa just isn’t in the budget right now. Luckily, there are alternative methods to stress relief that can easily be fit in between turkey day, Christmas day and news year’s day without breaking the bank.

Acupuncture is an example. This medical treatment offers natural stress relief through scheduled appointments. Treatments can focus on particular body parts that might hurt or just a more general relief of stress. Alleviating stress during the holidays can help you focus on what’s really important; spending this time with the ones you love. The less stress you feel, the more you can enjoy in these upcoming months.
