Recipe to Build the Immune System

barley soupSick all the time? Allergies? Just plain feeling run down? Here’s my recipe for Mushroom Barley Soup to boost the immune system. I eyeball it, so no measurements. Put Pearl Barley in a ceramic pot. Use the water to barley ratio on the package and then add a few more cups – swapping water for organic veggie or chicken broth. Add these ingredients: Chopped Organic Onions, Garlic and Ginger (great natural anti-virals). Add Astragalus (Milk Vetch), Shitake or Reishi Mushrooms, Wolfberries and Red Jujube Dates – these tonics boost Qi. Add fresh ground white pepper, if you feel you need more warming. Bring to boil, then simmer until barley is done. Add Bragg Liquid Aminoʼs to taste. Enjoy!
