What additional treatment methods may be used?
Herbal Supplements stimulate the body’s own restorative processes. Chinese herbal formulas are primarily plant based, and treat a wide variety of ailments. We prescribe standard processed, certified safe herbal capsules based on your individual diagnosis. Herbal formulas generally are not used during chemotherapy or radiation.
Auriculotherapy (Ear Acupressure) is the application of Herbal (Vaccaria Seeds) or magnets onto specific points of the ear. The ear is a microsystem of the entire body with each point corresponding to an organ or body part. This complimentary self-treatment is effective to continue benefits of acupuncture between treatments.
Electro-stimulation is the use of a low-frequency micro current to stimulate acupoints. Mini clips are attached to the needles, which creates a mild pulsing to increase movement of Qi along the energy pathway.
Moxibustion (Moxa Therapy) is burning the herb Mugwort to indirectly warm acupoints, increasing blood flow and qi. It expels coldness from the body, effective for joint pain and female health problems such as menstrual cramps and infertility. Moxa is well known for it’s application to acupoint UB67 to turn a breech baby.
Cupping Massage is moving smooth, glass cups with suction & therapeutic oils on the back to warm & relax tight muscles, increase circulation and relieve Stress & Pain.
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from medicinal plants to restore emotional harmony and promote healing.
Sound Therapy is a healing method based on the Chinese Five Elements Theory which influences emotional well-being. The vibration of music promotes healing in the five corresponding organ systems. Each organ has a tonal scale associated with it, that brings balance to that organ system. You don’t really have to understand it. Just Enjoy!
